Spring showers

Rain
Wash away the dirty snow
Revealing the surviving grass below
Cleanse our minds with water pure
Leaving us hopeful & sure.
We’ve been searching for a year
For the surety we hold dear
Only to find it exists not
Control is a silly thing to want.
Hold our eyes on what is good & true
And to give thanks for how we grew.
As the spring weather proves fickle
Mimicking our hearts so brittle
Nourish buds slowly peeking through
And give us a vision anew.
